The NFL threw massive amounts of money toward players shortly after the opening of the tampering period. The best reported moves will affect teams leaguewide. The top three moves were Chiefs Agree to Terms with G Joe Thuney, Chargers Agree to Terms with C Corey Linsley and Jets Agree to Terms with DE Carl Lawson.

Ex-Dallas Mavericks center Shawn Bradley, 48, paralyzed after a car crashed into his bicycle in Utah

Former Dallas Mavericks player, Shawn Bradley, suffered severe spinal cord damage which left him paralyzed following the crash on Jan. 20, 2021. He was struck from the backside by a car while he was riding a bike and he had to have a neck fusion surgery and has since been in rehabilitation for eight weeks. He played NBA basketball for 14 years prior to this accident, seven years being for the Mavericks.

Indiana basketball fires coach Archie Miller after four middling seasons

After four seasons, Indiana Basketball decided to fire coach Archie Miller. He had been trying to break the top half of the Big Ten and failed miserably. Miller finished his four seasons with a record of 67–58.
